We are very proud to have been part of the 2011 AHS National in Baton Rouge in May!  We had 2 members' gardens on the tour and 2 more were Open gardens! We gave a cooling southern fan and Mardi Gras beads to each guest at the convention and they enjoyed great food in the Terrio garden and wonderfully pure Louisiana scenery in the Tassin Garden.
About Us
In spite of hurricanes and oil spills and economics, SELDS is growing in the Big Easy.  Our hardy group of members are an active part of the city that will not quit. Founded over 40 years ago, we are still growing. Our club meets 4 times a year at the Educational Garden Center in New Orleans Botanical Garden. This is where we also maintain several display beds of daylilies in the Botanical Garden in historical City Park. Big Easy gardening is warm to say the least. We are almost a tropical climate and yet many daylilies love it here. We count 5 AHS Display Gardens among our members and several fine personal collections.  We are proud to count to past AHS Presidents among our current members!   Join us and enjoy the ride.

 Activities
We participate in the Botanical Garden's Spring Plant Festival & Sale and often in their fall Plant Sale. Dates for these are usually April & October. We occasionally take a bus trip to visit daylily gardens in the surrounding states - even as far as Florida. Our meetings often feature a speaker on some area of growing daylilies and most include a slide show of blooms for your enjoyment.  Plant raffles of recent cultivars are also an exciting part of our program agendas.
